KNSD Names Greg Bledsoe 4:30, 11 A.M. Anchor

NBC-owned KNSD San Diego (DMA 28) has promoted Greg Bledsoe to co-anchor of its weekday NBC 7 News Today at 4:30 a.m. and NBC 7 News Midday at 11 a.m., alongside Marianne Kushi.

Bledsoe, who succeeds longtime anchor Jason Austell, will assume his new role on Monday, July 18.

Bledsoe, who joined KNSD in 2001, has held various on-air roles with ascending responsibility since he joined the station. Most recently, he worked as the station’s weekend news anchor and meteorologist and has also worked as a general assignment reporter.

A 16-time Emmy award winner for writing, editing, reporting and photography, Bledsoe has also been recognized with multiple national awards from the National Press Photographer’s Association, including being named the NPPA’s Solo Video Journalist of the year in 2011 and 2012.  

He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado’s School of Journalism and a certification in meteorology from Mississippi State University.
