Kris Pickel To Co-Anchor WKYC News
Anchor Kris Pickel will be joining Gannett-owned NBC affiliate WKYC Cleveland (DMA 18) in early April to co-anchor the 6 and 11 p.. newscasts with Russ Mitchell.
Currently the weekend 5 and 10 p.m. anchor at KOVR Sacramento, Calif., Pickel is the recipient of several broadcast journalism awards including an Edward R. Murrow, Associated Press and multiple Emmys for reporting.
Pickel is a Sacramento native who began her career as an editor at KCRA there followed by anchoring, reporting and producing in Grand Junction, Colo.; Reno, Nev.; and Tucson, Ariz.

Good to see a quality journalist and anchor get promoted . Watched her when we were in Tucson and always knew she was too good for that myopic, man bites dog market!!!
