KRIV Houston Expands Two Local Shows

Two locally-produced shows on Fox-owned KRIV Houston (DMA 10) are getting more airtime.

The Isiah Factor: Uncensored and What’s Your Point?, which have aired one night a week, will now air nightly Monday through Friday, at 10 and 10:30 p.m. effective today.

In addition, KRIV’s duopoly sister station, KTXH (MNT), will broadcast a second run of Isiah Factor: Uncensored at 10 p.m. and What’s Your Point? at 10:30 p.m., beginning Tuesday, May 2.

In making the announcement, Susan Schiller, VP-news director, said: “These innovative broadcasts have provoked our viewers’ thoughts, opinions and perspectives on the world we live in. The viewer response has been incredible and we are excited to expand both programs.”

Hosted by reporter Isiah Carey, The Isiah Factor: Uncensored features conversation about the hottest, and many times controversial issues, while also featuring interviews with local newsmakers. Carey will be joined by one of Houston’s most popular DJs each night. Isiah will begin his premiere week tonight with a one-on-one interview with Houston’s Mayor Sylvester Turner.

What’s Your Point?, hosted by the station’s veteran political reporter, Greg Groogan, is described as a free-for-all discussion examining the political and social issues of the day “across every level, from the nation’s Capital, to the state capital, to City Hall.”

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Among the panelists are Houston media representatives, attorneys, political strategists, community activists, educators and others.

Groogan said: “The show’s goal remains the same; to create a stimulating, balanced conversation with genuine meaning and value, the sort of constructive, entertaining engagement which triggers involvement in the democratic process and deeper caring for our nation and community.”
