KSWB San Diego Adds 1 & 4 P.M. Newscasts

With the addition of the new weekday broadcasts, the Tribune Fox affiliate airs 56.5 hours of news a week.

Tribune Broadcasting’s Fox affiliate KSWB San Diego, Calif. (DMA 28), on Monday introduced two additional newscasts — Fox 5 News at One (1-2 p.m.) anchored by Erica Fox, and Andrew Luria with Jason Handman providing weather, and Fox 5 News at Four (4-5 p.m.) anchored by Andrew Luria and Jenn Karlman, with Jason Handman.

Currently, KSWB produces the Fox 5 Morning News from 4:30 to 10 a.m., evening newscasts at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. weekdays, and another four hours each weekend, all in high definition. With this news expansion, KSWB will produce 56.5 hours of live news each week.

The station has also named Phil Blauer co-anchor of the Fox 5 News at 6 and 10 p.m., alongside Kathleen Bade.  Blauer, who was previously the station’s weekend anchor, came to KSWB from the CBS affiliate, KFMB, earlier this year.

“The addition of these two newscasts further affirms our commitment to grow our news and service the community” said Rich Goldner, KSWB news director.
