KUSA-Channel 9 meteorologist Belen De Leon delivered her last on-air forecast in Colorado at noon on Monday.

De Leon is moving to Los Angeles, where she has taken a job with an NBC affiliate, according to a story at 9NEWS.com.

She joined the station in 2012 and had been known for sometimes bursting into song during her segments.

“Having a weather person who sings was unprecedented, and sometimes I was criticized, but I think little by little I’ve been winning people over,” De León said in a 2014 interview for The Denver Post.

And she had the cred: Before switching careers in 2007, De Leon had won three Billboard Latin Music Awards and two Lo Nuestro Awards as a dancer and singer of La Onda, a renowned Latin pop group.

De Leon on Monday told The Post that the offer was too good to pass up. “I didn’t want to live with the regret of not taking the opportunity to advance my career,” but added that she will miss Colorado.

“I’ll miss the people, the community, the mountains, the skiing … going to a Rockies game or a Broncos game. And especially the people at 9News.”

De Leon delivered the weather forecasts on weekend mornings and three days out of the week, or whenever 9News needed her. “I considered myself like spackle; filling in the spaces.”

A call to 9News about a replacement has yet to be returned.
