KVDA San Antonio Adds Two To Its News Staff

NBCU’s Telemundo affiliate KVDA San Antonio, Texas (DMA 33), today announced that Santiago Gallego has joined the station as a video journalist for Noticias 60 Telemundo at 5 and 10 p.m. Gallego’s first day on air was yesterday.
Additionally, Karina Yapor was named co-anchor for the 4:30, 5 and 10 p.m. weekday newscasts starting Nov. 3.

Both Gallego and Yapor join news anchor Alex Hernandez and weather anchor Lilian Perez.

Gallego joins KVDA from the Telemundo Station Group, where he was a desk coordinator from April 2014 to October 2014. He also worked as an assignment desk editor for Noticiero Telemundo from January 2014 to April 2014. He received a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and journalism from Florida International University.

Yapor joins from KTDO El Paso, Texas, where she worked as a news producer from 2010 to 2012 and as a multimedia journalist from January to October 2014.
