KWCH Adds TrafficLand Broadcast Video Service

Schurz Communications-owned CBS affiliate KWCH Wichita, Kan. (DMA 67) has signed an agreement to use TrafficLand’s Broadcast 3.0 traffic camera video management service.

The TrafficLand service provides integrated access to live video from Kansas Department of Transportation traffic cameras through a specialized front-end designed for television production and broadcast.

TrafficLand Broadcast 3.0 will give KWCH the ability to set up multi-camera displays to monitor traffic patterns and bottlenecks.  It also provides camera search and real-time switching controls for timely on-air reports.

“TrafficLand Broadcast 3.0 enhances our ability to give viewers a real-time LIVE look at traffic delays, incidents and accidents, and weather-related slowdowns that coud impact their daily commute in the Wichita metropolitan area,” said KWCH News Director Brian Gregory. “TrafficLand’s extensive camera network gives traffic reporter Katie Hatfield and the Eyewitness News This Morning team another tool to expand our coverage and responsiveness to traffic incidents

TrafficLand also provides traffic video content for media, mobile applications, navigation devices, telematics and first responders.
