The veteran news director succeeds Dan Schillinger at the QNI-owned NBC affiliate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

KWWL Names Shane Moreland News Director
QNI-owned NBC affiliate KWWL Cedar Rapids, Iowa (DMA 90), today named Shane Moreland news director. Moreland begins at KWWL on May 26.
He is succeeding Dan Schillinger, who is taking the news director position at QNI’s WQOW La Crosse-Eau Claire, Wis.
Most recently, Moreland was VP-GM of WVNS Bluefield, W.Va., and VP of news operations for its owner West Virginia Media Holdings. Moreland’s resume also includes stints as news director of WCTI-WFXI of New Bern, N.C., and news director at WSLS in Roanoke, Va.
Moreland brings to KWWL numerous awards and more than 20 years of experience. He is the recipient of several regional and national Edward R. Murrow awards, as well as a Peabody Award for the 2007 coverage of the tragic shootings at Virginia Tech.
