Kye Martin Joins WMAQ As Traffic Reporter

Kye Martin will be joining NBC-owned WMAQ Chicago as a traffic and transportation reporter effective July 23. Her role will include traffic reports for the weekday morning news at 4:30-7 and cover transportation issues for all the station’s newscasts.

Martin comes to WMAQ from Radiate Media where she has worked since 2008 as the primary traffic anchor for Chicago’s CLTV website. She’s also filled-in as traffic anchor on WGN-TV Chicago and wrote a traffic blog for  the WGN website.

Prior to CLTV, Martin was a general assignment reporter at KTXL Sacramento, Calif. She also was a morning news anchor and general assignment reporter at KMPH Fresno, Calif. She started her broadcasting career at all-news radio KMPH-FM Fresno as a reporter.

Martin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Washington State University.
