KYW A.M. News Expands To WPSG

CBS is introducing three more hours of the morning newscast of its KYW Philadelphia on co-owned CW affiliate WPSG beginning June 29

CBS Philadelphia O&O KYW’s Eyewitness News This Morning, which airs 5 to 7 a.m., will expand to 7 to 9 a.m. on sister station WPSG (CW) beginning Monday, June 29.

The program will replace WPSG’s Wake Up News, a headline traffic, weather and news service launched with Traffic.Com in May 2005 out of the traffic service’s suburban Philadelphia studios.

Wake Up News currently airs 5 to 9 a.m. With this move, WPSG will, for the first time, be able to offer viewers a high-definition newscast in the morning by moving production of the a.m. news into the state-of-the art studios it shares with KYW.

Ukee Washington and Liz Keptner will anchor the program on both stations along with Meteorologist Maria LaRosa and Traffic Reporter Bob Kelly. Anchor/Reporter Natasha Brown will also contribute to the new 7 to 9 a.m. program.

The move extends the “Eyewitness News” brand on WPSG for the second time this year.  In February, it launched a 10 p.m. newscast under the “Eyewitness News” moniker anchored by Dave Huddleston.

Little misleading headline since there is a KYW AM Radio station there too.

You know what. I have no clue what any of this means. This is the most confusing story I have ever read. You guys might want to re-think having “Staff” write your stories or should I say “Intern” do the writing. Cause what I read above makes absolutely no sense.
