Lauren Jiggetts Joins ‘WGN Morning News’

Tribune-owned CW affiliate WGN Chicago (DMA 3) has hired Lauren Jiggetts as co-anchor of the 4 and 5 a.m. editions of WGN Morning News alongside co-anchor Dan Ponce. She will start on the air on July 10.

Jiggetts replaces Lourdes Duarte who now anchors the WGN Evening News at 4 p.m. alongside Ben Bradley.

Prior to joining WGN, Jiggetts spent 10 years at WMAQ Chicago, in a variety of positions, most recently as the weekend news anchor. She also worked at Channel One News in Los Angeles and WLVI Boston.

Jiggetts is the daughter of former Chicago Bears offensive tackle and longtime sportscaster Dan Jiggetts. She graduated cum laude from Harvard University. While in school, Jiggetts interned at WFLD and CLTV, both Chicago.
