The CBS affiliate’s former business manager and media operations manager succeeds Tom Keeler at Sinclair's Harlingen-Weslaco-Brownsville-McAllen, Texas, station
Linda Guerrero Deicla New KGBT GM
Sinclair Broadcast Group today promoted Linda Guerrero Deicla to general manager of its CBS affiliate KGBT Harlingen-Weslaco-Brownsville-McAllen, Texas (DMA 86). She succeeds Tom Keeler, who left the station in August to become VP-GM of WISC Madison, Wis.
In making the announcement, Steve Pruett, co-chief operating officer of Sinclair’s television group, said: “Linda’s previous positions at KGBT-TV as business manager and media operations manager have allowed her to become intimately familiar with the day-to-day operations of the television station, as well as showcase her leadership skills. We congratulate her on her promotion to general manager.”
Deicla joined KGBT in 2004 as accounting supervisor and was promoted in 2006 to business manager overseeing all of the station’s financial reporting, general accounting functions and HR compliance.
She also served as the media operations manager for KGBT, overseeing the engineering, promotions and production departments.
Previously, Deicla worked as a tax associate for Arthur Andersen LLP in San Antonio and as a staff accountant for BFI Waste Services of Texas in the Rio Grande Valley.
A native of the Rio Grande Valley, she has also worked as an adjunct accounting professor at South Texas College, teaching introduction to financial and managerial accounting.
Deicla is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, having received both bachelor ‘s and master’s degrees from the McCombs School of Business.
