Lippin Group Promotes Don Ciaramella

Public relations agency The Lippin Group has promoted Donald Ciaramella to president of corporate communications.

Ciaramella will look to further the company’s growth in both traditional and new media, while continuing to manage the company’s New York office. In this newly-created role, he will also continue to provide strategic communications and business counsel to C-suite level and senior communications executives for leading entertainment and media clients.

He previously was the firm’s EVP corporate communications, overseeing domestic and international corporate strategies and activities targeting the industry, business, advertising and media communities. This embraces television (broadcast, cable, syndication and VOD), interactive and international production and distribution companies, professional services companies and industry associations.

Company Chairman-CEO Dick Lippin said:  “Don and I have been together for a long time and I truly believe he is one of the most dedicated and professional executives in our entire industry. He has shown leadership throughout his career and developed exceptional relations with the media and top level executives in the entertainment world. Add to that his honesty and you have the whole package of someone who is a delight to call my associate.”

Ciaramella helped launch campaigns supporting advanced advertising and iTV products for Cablevision Media Sales, and research initiatives about social TV, viewing behavior, video apps and 3DTV for CTAM (Cable & Telecommunication Association for Marketing).  For CTAM, he also developed and continues to oversee the national public relations campaign for a consortium of Hollywood studios and cable companies promoting movies on demand.

A passionate oenophile, Ciaramella (who completed the Intermediate and Advanced certificate programs of the Wine & Spirits Education Trust and the Society of Wine Educator’s CSW Program), has overseen campaigns for award-winning wineries in the Finger Lakes, Paso Robles, Santa Ynez Valley and Mendoza, Argentina.  He also crafted and implemented the U.S. launch campaign for the Vacu-Vin home wine preservation system.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Prior to joining The Lippin Group in 1988, he spent nearly a decade as a journalist with Gannett, serving as both an editor and reporter covering entertainment, business/finance and local news. He was business/financial editor for Today (a daily New York metro area newspaper and a proto-type for USA Today).  He also spent four years with corporate public relations firm of B.L. Ochman.
