Lopez New Sales VP For Telemundo San Diego

Sabrina Lopez moves from Telemundo’s WNJU New York to head sales when the new outlet picks up the market’s affiliation on July 1.

The Telemundo Station Group has hired Sabrina Lopez to be VP of sales for Telemundo 20 San Diego (DMA 28), a new Telemundo-owned station that will officially launch on July 1, after the current Telemundo affiliation with Entravision-owned XHAS ends.

Lopez will be responsible for developing and implementing all local, national and sales strategies across all Telemundo 20 station platforms. She will report to Richard Kelley, president-GM of Telemundo 20 and NBC O&O KNSD. Her first day in San Diego will be June 1.

Lopez brings more than 16 years of experience to her new role after holding sales positions with increasing responsibility for the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations division. She joins Telemundo 20’s team after working for Telemundo’s WNJU New York as sales manager and business development director for the past three years.

Prior to WNJU, Lopez also helped to increase sales revenue for NBC and Telemundo-owned stations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, and for NBC Regional Sports Networks. She launched her career in broadcast sales as an account manager for Telemundo’s KDEN Denver in 2001.

Lopez earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from St. Joseph’s College in Indiana.
