Lucy Noland Joins KNBC As Anchor, Reporter

Lucy Noland joins NBC-owned KNBC Los Angeles as an anchor and reporter effective July 11. She comes to the station from CBS affiliate KHOU Houston, where she was the co-anchor of the station’s 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. weekday newscasts. Noland has been with KHOU since April 2007.

Prior to working for KHOU, Noland co-hosted Good Day New York, the morning show at Fox O&O WNYW New York. She also briefly anchored that station’s midday newscast. Noland was with WNYW from March 2004 to March 2007.

Before that, she was a weekday morning anchor and franchise reporter at WJBK Detroit from December 1997 to March 2004.

Noland began her career in broadcasting at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she produced, edited and broadcast news for the college’s radio station and was also a disc jockey. She interned at KATN Fairbanks and eventually became a morning and evening news anchor there and also produced, edited and reported. During this time, she also produced, edited and broadcast news for KWLF-FM Fairbanks and additionally was a disc jockey there.

Noland left Fairbanks to join KIMO Anchorage, where she held a number of different positions, including producer-editor, general assignment reporter and evening and late news anchor. She was then hired by ABC to join its Minority Management Training Program through its O&O KGO San Francisco. Her position also included assignments as a general assignment reporter and anchor for ABC’s KFSN Fresno, Calif. After that, she moved to Fresno’s CBS affiliate KJEO as the evening weekday anchor and reporter.

Great Hire! Extremely credible. Watched her when she was in NYC on one of my trips home! Noland has potential to knock all the other Anchors out of the water!
