Matt Waggoner Named KCPQ Asst.News Director

Tribune Broadcasting’s Fox affiliate KCPQ Seattle (DMA 14) has promoted Matt Waggoner to assistant news director. Waggoner, who was previously the station’s senior executive producer of news and sports, will continue to report to Erica Hill, news director.

Waggoner joined the station in 2012 and has served in various news leadership roles. Prior to his position as senior executive producer, he was the nightside executive producer, overseeing the editorial and technical production for the station’s 4, 5, 9, 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts.

Before joining Tribune Broadcasting, he was both a news and sports producer for KPTV Portland, Ore., and a writer-producer for KPHO Phoenix.

Waggoner holds a Bachelor of Arts in communications and journalism from Arizona State University.
