‘Maury’ Set To Celebrate Its 3,000th Episode

The NBCU syndicated show will feature the “most outrageous and memorable Maury moments from the past 18 years” on its May 25 show.

Maury Povich’s daytime talk show will reach the 3,000-episode mark next month. To celebrate the milestone, the show will reveal the “most outrageous and memorable Maury moments from the past 18 years” on the May 25 show, according to an announcement Wednesday from NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution, which syndicates the show.

“3,000 is not just a number to me — it’s a big number,” said Povich, 77, in a prepared statement. “I would like to say, I remember every one of them. Let’s just leave it at that.”

The 3,000th-episode celebration kicks off tomorrow (April 28) with the first installment of “Top 30 of 3,000,” a series that will highlight a great moment of the show at the conclusion of each show during the month of May, NBCUDTD said.

In addition, the company said, Maury “will track down DNA babies from paternity shows the past 15 years and viewers will see how their lives as well as the lives of their parents have turned out since their DNA reveal.”

Shows centered on paternity tests and the sorting out of complicated family relationships have long been the bread and butter of the Povich show.
