Me-TV Beefs Up Roster With 10 New Stations

The multicast network of classic TV shows signs stations from Allbritton, Media General and Raycom, bringing its U.S. clearance total to more than 60%.

Me-TV today announced several affiliation deals today — its first with Allbritton Communications, additional stations of Raycom Media as well as seven additional markets with Media General. The total U.S. market clearance for Me-TV now surpasses 60%.

Allbritton is the newest station group to affiliate with Me-TV, adding its ABC affiliate WCIV Charleston, S.C. (DMA 98) on Oct. 1.

Media General added seven markets to its Me-TV roster, bringing Media General’s total affiliation count to 11. The additions are Tampa, Fla. (WFLA); Columbus, Ohio (WCMH); Birmingham, Ala. (WVTM); Providence, R.I. (WJAR); Mobile, Ala. (WKRG); Augusta, Ga. (WJBF); and Columbus, Ga. (WRBL). Each of these stations’ launch date is Sept. 26.

Raycom Media has added its largest market, Cleveland, Ohio via CBS affiliate WOIO, as well as WQWQ in Paducah, Ky.

“To have broadcast groups the caliber of Allbritton, Raycom and Media General as Me-TV affiliate partners is great,” said Neal Sabin, president of content and networks for Weigel Broadcasting Co.

Me-TV, memorable entertainment television, launched nationally in December 2010, is owned and operated by Weigel Broadcasting Co. and distributed by MGM Television.
