Media General promotes the director of content at its Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C., TV, Web and print operations to lead its Columbus, Ga., CBS affiliate.

Media General Names David Hart WRBL GM
Media General Inc. today named David Hart vice president and general manager of its CBS affiliate WRBL Columbus, Ga. (DMA 127), effective March 12. He will report to Alan Davis, group leader for Media General’s operations in Columbus, Marianna, Fla., Opelika, Ala., and Dothan, Ala.
Since July 2010, Hart has been director of content for WBTW, scnow.com and Morning News, Media General’s television, Web and print operations in Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C., where he oversaw content gathering and delivery across all platforms.
Before that, he was news director of WBTW from 2005 to 2010. Prior to that, he was executive producer for WSPA, Media General’s CBS affiliate in Spartanburg, S.C.
He is a 20-year veteran of television news and has won several regional Emmys and Associated Press awards for his news coverage.
Hart is a graduate of Auburn University.
