Meredith Local Media Names General Counsel

Joshua Pila moves from LIN Media to succeed Perry Bradshaw, who is retiring in January 2015 after a 36-year career at Meredith.

Joshua Pila has joined Meredith Corp.’s Local Media Group as general counsel, effective immediately. He succeeds Perry Bradshaw, who is retiring in January 2015 after a 36-year career at Meredith.

Pila comes to Meredith from LIN Media, where he most recently was senior counsel and assistant secretary. Prior to joining LIN, he worked at Cooley LLP (formerly Dow Lohnes PLLC) in Washington, D.C. During his time at Cooley, he focused on regulatory compliance, public policy and represented clients in retransmission negotiations.

“Joshua has extensive experience with important issues facing the broadcast industry,” said Paul Karpowicz, Meredith Local Media Group president. “He is a recognized industry expert and will be an asset to our group addressing regulatory issues, negotiating retransmission and network affiliation agreements, and handling labor negotiations. We look forward to Joshua’s contributions, and congratulate Perry on a very successful career.”

Pila is a graduate of Georgetown University Law School and the University of Florida. He was recently recognized by the Providence Business News as a “Forty Under Forty” business and community leader.

Pila will be based in Atlanta, where Meredith owns WGCL and operates WPCH for Turner Broadcasting.
