‘Meredith Vieira Show’ Off To Good Start

The new syndicated talk show launched Monday to a 1.7 household rating and a 5 share.

The Meredith Vieira Show from NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution debuted to a 1.7 household rating and 5 share in Nielsen’s metered markets on Monday. It posted a 41% year-over-year increase from its time slot averages.

That was the second-highest year-over-year increase since NBCUniversal’s Steve Harvey’s debut in broadcast syndication in 2012, when it posted a 50% year-over-year gain. On Monday, Steve’s third season premiere had a 1.9/5, up 35% from last season’s premiere.

Meredith debuted on launch group NBC Owned Television Stations’ 10 stations and stations owned by groups. In many time slots, its leads into Steve Harvey and Warner Bros.’ Ellen.

Among women 25-54, Meredith debuted to a 0.6 rating, flat to its year-ago time slots. On KNBC Los Angeles, the show was up 400% in that demographic.
