Meteorologist Anthony Ortíz Rodríguez Joins KXLN

Univision-owned KXLN Houston (DMA 10) has added meteorologist Anthony Ortíz Rodríguez to its news team.

Ortíz Rodríguez, a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association will provide weather coverage Monday through Friday across all Noticias Univision 45 broadcasts and digital platforms beginning Monday, Aug. 8.

Ortíz Rodríguez, a native of Puerto Rico, earned a B.S. in physical sciences and certifications in atmospheric sciences and meteorology as well as secondary education-science from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez.

During his time at University of Puerto Rico, Ortíz Rodríguez worked on research projects for the National Weather Service centers in Memphis and Brownsville, Texas, on topics ranging from weather patterns and the formation of tornadoes to tropical cyclones and El Niño.

He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in geoscience-broadcast meteorology from the University of Mississippi.
