Meteorologist Brittney Shipp Joins WCAU

NBC-owned WCAU Philadelphia (DMA 4) announced today that Brittney Shipp will be joining the station as a meteorologist starting in January 2013. Shipp joins WCAU from KTVK Phoenix, where she has been a weekend meteorologist and special assignment reporter since 2007.

Shipp started her television career in 2006 at NBC affiliate KYMA Yuma, Ariz. While there she reported on weather and special features for the station’s weekday morning news.

She earned a degree in international development studies with an emphasis in communication from the University of California at Los Angeles, where she was the recipient of the Jackie Robinson UCLA Scholarship. She later graduated from Mississippi State University with a Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology.
