Meteorologist Rachel Frank Joins WPIX New York

Meteorologist Rachel Frank will join WPIX, Tribune Broadcasting’s New York CW affiliate, beginning next week. Frank, a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association, will deliver the weather forecasts for the early part of PIX11 Morning News and report on weather and environmental issues for the station.

Linda Church will continue to deliver weather for PIX11 Morning News from 6 to 9am.  Frank will report to Mark Effron, VP/news.

Frank joins WPIX from Tribune’s WTIC Hartford, Conn., where she provided weather forecasts for the station’s 4, 5, 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts. Frank joined WTIC in October 2008 from WFMZ Allentown, Pa., where she was the weekend meteorologist. Prior to that, she spent two years as the weekend meteorologist at WICU Erie, Pa.

A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Frank received her bachelor’s degree in meteorology with a focus on forecasting. She graduated with honors, as a member of Chi Epsilon Pi, the national meteorological honors society.
