Meyrowitz Named Hearst Television Sales VP

The group broadcaster chooses WPIX GM Eric Meyrowitz to oversee sales activities at Hearst's 29 stations along with Kathleen Keefe.

Eric J. Meyrowitz is joining Hearst Television Inc. as a vice president of sales, effective March 1.

The move marks a return to Hearst for Meyrowitz, who was national sales manager for Hearst’s WBAL Baltimore, between 1997 and 2000. Most recently he was VP-GM of WPIX New York.

He will be located at Hearst Television’s New York headquarters, where he will share oversight responsibilities for television sales activities at the company’s 29 stations along with Kathleen Keefe, also Hearst Television VP of sales.

Before WPIX, he served for six years as VP-GM of WDCW Washington, where he started as local sales manager and then became general sales manager. He joined WDCW (at the time WBDC)  from WBAL.

He began his television sales career as an analyst and, later, account executive, in New York at HRP, now a unit of Cox Reps.

Meyrowitz earned a BA, cum laude, from Boston University.
