MFM’s Media Outlook 2012 Set For Sept. 22

The annual seminar is designed to help in preparing budgets for next year with discussions and presentations on the outlook for digital ad platforms; ad spending projections; and general overviews of what to expect in 2012 in broadcasting, print and online media.

With the financial markets and pundits providing mixed signals on the strength of the U.S. economy, media companies have many questions as they prepare their budgets for 2012.  To help with the answers, MFM, the Media Financial Management Association, will open its Media Outlook 2012  half-day seminar with a luncheon keynote by Heather M. Goodchild, managing director, media and entertainment debt ratings, for Standard & Poor’s.

The CPE (continuing professional education) seminar will be held on Thursday, Sept. 22, at the 3 West Club, 3 West 51st Street (between 5th & 6th avenues) in Manhattan.

Co-chaired by MFM board member Robert Damon, SVP-CFO of Katz Media Group, and Raoul De Sota, SVP of strategic development at Cable Audit Associates, the seminar’s sessions will include:

  • A discussion of the outlook for digital advertising platforms in 2012 and beyond.
  • Ad spending projections for the coming year.
  • The outlook for 2012 from industry leaders representing broadcasting, print and online media.

“In the current climate for American businesses, it can be challenging to predict what will happen tomorrow let alone what to expect for the coming year,” said Mary M. Collins, president-CEO of MFM and its BCCA subsidiary. “With more than 25 years of  experience in credit analysis and reviewing the budgets and forecasts of media industry companies, Heather Goodchild will set the tone for a series of presentations by top industry experts that will help media businesses align the latest market forecasts with their budgets and strategic planning for 2012 and beyond.”

Rooms for out-of-town attendees are available at the 3 West Club.  More information concerning Media Outlook 2012 and an online registration form may be found on MFM’s website.

MFM is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as sponsors of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
