MGM To Distribute ‘RightThisMinute’

The daily series searches out the best viral videos and the stories behind them. Its staff introduces audiences to the newest Web videos as they break, often before the videos go viral.

RightThisMinute, which features breaking videos and news of the Web has selected MGM Television as its syndication partner.

RightThisMinute, produced by MagicDust Television in partnership with Cox Media Group, Raycom Media and E.W. Scripps, is a daily series devoted to finding the best viral videos and the stories behind them. Its staff introduces audiences to the newest Web videos as they break, often before the videos go viral.

“RightThisMinute offers fresh, original half- hours every day throughout the year,” said John Bryan, President Domestic Television Distribution, MGM.  “Capitalizing on the immense popularity of viewer generated videos before they go viral is such an innovative idea. Our team is excited to be selling this fast-paced, entertaining programming and to be working with these top-notch station groups.”

RightThisMinute airs in approximately 50 U.S. markets. The show saw its second season debut in Detroit, Denver, Indianapolis, San Diego, and Tulsa, among others, in September of 2012. Other markets where the show returned include: Seattle, Phoenix, Cleveland, Orlando, Charlotte, Baltimore, Kansas City, Cincinnati, West Palm Beach, Birmingham, and Richmond.

RightThisMinute produces two original half-hour episodes every weekday. Also announced is the addition of two original half-hour “best of” weekend shows that will be available in this fall.  RightThisMinute’s executive producers are former TMZ executive producer Lisa Hudson and veteran journalist Dennis O’Neill.  It is hosted by Beth Troutman, Steven Fabian, Christian Vera, Nick Calderone and Gayle Bass.
