The Scripps West Palm Beach operation brings in the former news director of Gannett’s Jacksonville duo to succeed Jeff Brogan.

E.W. Scripps announced today that Michael Garber will be the next news director of its WPTV (NBC) and WFLX (Fox) West Palm Beach, Fla. (DMA 38), effective May 29. Prior to Jacksonville, Garber spent more than five years as news director of Gannett’s WLTX Columbia, S.C. He has also been assistant news director of KGUN Tucson, Ariz., and as a sports producer and director at KPIX San Francisco and WFTS Tampa, Fla.

Garber went to the University of South Florida there where he earned a degree in English.
