Microsoft’s Corman to keynote NAB ‘Next Genreation’ session

Phil Corman, director, worldwide partner development for the Microsoft TV Division, will provide the keynote address for the “Next Generation Television—The Content Provider’s Opportunity” Super Session at NAB2006 in Las Vegas, April 24.

The Next Generation Super Session will explore new content-based business and revenue models as IPTV-based entertainment and information services become increasingly available. Speakers will outline IPTV content delivery options, how they offer content owners new ways to reach consumers, and the business development opportunities that they provide for content distributors.

At Microsoft, Corman is responsible for increasing the value of Microsoft TV’s solutions by driving relationships with industry partners. These partnerships include companies such as encoding, server, storage and billing/operations support systems (B/OSS) providers, consumer electronics (CE) and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), silicon suppliers, independent software and TV application providers, and systems integrators. Corman is also responsible for developing an IPTV content partner ecosystem including studios, broadcasters, post production houses, content and asset management companies.
