Mike Schneider New ‘NJ Today’ Anchor

Public Media NJ has named Mike Schneider anchor and managing editor of NJ Today, the statewide nightly news and public affairs program on NJTV.

NJ Today will replace the current NJ Today Summer Edition, which began broadcasting in July. NJ Today, still considered by producers as a work-in-progress program, covers news across New Jersey with a concentration on government and public policy, using taped stories and in-depth interviews.

Schneider’s news career spans more than three decades of reporting for both national network and local Tri-State outlets. His career launched in 1975 as a news writer at WPVI Philadelphia and went on to expand his role to reporter and anchor at network affiliates throughout New York and Pennsylvania, including WTAE Pittsburgh and WCBS New York. Most recently he has hosted CNBC Titans.

Schneider also ran for office in the state’s 5th Congressional District (NJ 5).
