Miss USA Sees Lowest Ratings Ever

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump found a new home for the Miss USA pageant after NBC dumped it because of his comments on Mexican immigrants, but few television viewers sought it out.

The Nielsen company said 925,000 people watched Olivia Jordan of Oklahoma crowned as Miss USA on the Reelz Channel. The little-known cable network stepped up after Trump, the Republican presidential candidate who co-owns the pageant, angered many with his assertion that some Mexican immigrants to the U.S. bring drugs and crime, and some are rapists.

That’s sharply down from the 5.6 million people who watched last year on NBC.

In records that date back to the 1970s, the pageants had ranged from 4.6 million viewers in 2013 to 38.1 million in 1979.

Trump needs to be disassociated with Miss Universe and Miss USA ASAP, so these pageants can get back on NBC where they BELONG! Damned if I’m going to put up with the same buffering issues I had trying to watch Miss USA online! You and your big mouth, Donald. I’m not casting my Presidential vote for YOU!
