NATPE Names 2014 Tartikoff Award Winners

Set to pick up their awards at the NATPE conference in Miami Next January are Emilio Azcárraga Jean, CEO of Grupo Televisa; James L. Brooks, writer/producer of The Simpsons; Jon Feltheimer, CEO of Lionsgate, and Lauren Zalaznick, EVP of media innovation and cross-company initiatives at NBCUniversal.

NATPE today named four recipients of its 11th annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award.

They are Emilio Azcárraga Jean, CEO and chairman of Grupo Televisa, the Mexican company that provides Univision with much of its content; James L. Brooks, a producer and writer of such shows as The Simpsons; Jon Feltheimer, CEO of Lionsgate, the studio behind shows like AMC’s Mad Men; and Lauren Zalaznick, EVP of media innovation and cross-company initiatives at NBCUniversal.

The award, named in honor of the late NBC entertainment president, will be presented on Jan. 28 as part of the annual NATPE convention in Miami Beach.

“We are honored to celebrate this extraordinary group of talented people who have made such remarkable contributions to the world of media,” said Rod Perth, president and CEO of NATPE, in a statement.

Their accomplishments are incredible, from Emilio’s formidable expansion of Televisa’s business, and Jim’s unique ability to touch and entertain us with remarkable stories and characters, to Jon’s shrewd growth strategy and vision for screens both large and small, and Lauren’s record of building hugely successful cable brands in the times of this dynamic digital media landscape.”
