NATPE Taps Netflix’s Sarandos As Moderator

The Netflix content exec will host a conversation with television legends Norman Lear and Quincy Jones on Jan. 20 during this year’s annual conference and marketplace. 

NATPE today said that Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos is scheduled to moderate a conversation with Norman Lear and Quincy Jones during the group’s conference and marketplace Jan. 19-21 in Miami.

The discussion with these two industry legends is part of the Storytellers and Pop Culture track at NATPE Miami 2016. This marquee session is one of several conversations showcasing major creative forces spanning numerous genres of television. Lear and Jones will take the stage on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 2 pm at the Eden Roc Miami Beach Resort in the Ocean Tower Salon.  

Sarandos has led content acquisition for Netflix since 2000 and in the process built Netflix into a global and respected force. With more than 20 years of experience in home entertainment, he is recognized in the industry as an innovator in film acquisition, distribution and the creation of award-winning original content.

Before Netflix, Sarandos  was an executive at video distributor ETD and Video City / West Coast Video. He also serves on the Peabody Advisory Board, Film Advisory Board for Tribeca and Los Angeles Film Festival, the retail advisory board for the Digital Entertainment Group and is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute.
