NBC Stations Ups Lora Lesage To SVP

She will handle editorial and special content responsibilities, audience development and digital marketing coordination for the websites, social platforms and mobile apps of the 10 NBC-owned stations.

Lora LeSage has been promoted to senior vice president of digital media for NBC Owned Television Stations, it was announced Tuesday. In her newly expanded role, LeSage will handle editorial and special content responsibilities, audience development and digital marketing coordination for the websites, social platforms and mobile apps of the 10 NBC-owned stations. She will also continue to manage product development, advertising operations and business operations for the group’s digital properties.

LeSage will report to Valari Staab, president of NBC Owned Television Stations.

LeSage brings more than 20 years of local news experience to her new role, most recently serving as VP of digital media operations for NBC Owned Television Stations. In that position, she oversaw a major redesign of the stations’ 10 websites. LeSage also led the development and roll out of the division’s mobile product suite, which included launching iPhone, iPad and Android apps across all 10 stations.

Additionally, she worked closely with the sales teams at the division level and in the 10 markets to identify and implement creative product solutions for advertisers as well as managed the digital advertising operations and planning teams.

Before joining NBC Owned Television Stations in 2010, LeSage was director of integrated media for NBC-owned WMAQ Chicago, where she was responsible for the station’s cross-platform media strategy. She first joined WMAQ in 1997, holding positions of increasing responsibility within the newsroom, including investigative producer, senior producer and executive producer of digital and special projects. LeSage began her career in journalism as an investigative producer and researcher for WCCO Minneapolis.

LeSage has earned many awards for her journalism, including the Alfred I. du Pont Silver Baton Award and American Women in Radio and Television Gracie Award. She was also a Finalist for the Goldsmith Award for Investigative Reporting.

LeSage holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Chicago.
