NBCU Makes Ad Sales Executive Promotions
NBCUniversal today announced a number of additional senior digital ad sales and strategic sales executive appointments in its Ad Sales division.
- Scott Schiller, EVP, digital ad sales, and Krishan Bhatia, EVP, digital strategy and operations, have taken on expanded roles.
- Barry Fischer has been appointed to the new role of EVP, sales analytics.
- Earl Marshall has been named EVP and chief financial officer, ad sales.
- Mike Mayer has been appointed senior vice president, sales solutions.
Effective immediately, each of these executives will report to Linda Yaccarino, President of Ad Sales, NBCUniversal.
Additionally, John Shea, EVP and NBCUniversal’s chief marketing officer, integrated media, will join the Ad Sales division to drive strategy, innovation and creative for cross-portfolio ad deals. He will jointly report to Yaccarino and Lauren Zalaznick, NBCUniversal’s chairman, entertainment and digital networks and integrated media.
Schiller will take on new responsibilities as EVP, digital ad sales, overseeing digital ad sales for NBCUniversal’s broadcast and cable entertainment brands, including nbc.com, usa.com, bravotv.com, oxygen.com, syfy.com, accesshollywood.com, E! Online, g4tv.com, stylenetwork.com as well as Fandango, Daily Candy, Television Without Pity and the partnership with Comcast’s Xfinity.com portal. Previously, Schiller was the EVP, digital advertising sales for NBCUniversal Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media. He is a co-founder of the Interactive Advertising Bureau and was its first vice chairman.
Bhatia will take on the expanded role of EVP, digital strategy and operations for all of NBCUniversal’s digital ad sales, overseeing ad sales strategy, operations and account management for the company’s digital portfolio. Bhatia previously was EVP, digital strategy & operations for the Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media division of NBCUniversal.
In the new role of EVP, sales analytics, Fischer will oversee the execution of NBCUniversal’s portfolio market strategy through the use of sales analytics and market intelligence. Fischer has been EVP, market strategy since January 2011.
As EVP-CFO, Marshall will manage ad sales finance for the entire NBCUniversal Ad Sales portfolio. Prior to this, Marshall was the SVP-CFO for the NBC Sports Group.
As SVP, sales solutions, Mayer will oversee NBCU’s ad sales systems and operations. Mayer will lead the company’s efforts to develop internal systems to track its advertising inventory and the strategic selling of its portfolio. Prior to this appointment, Mayer spent more than 15 years at Turner Broadcasting before working with ESPN and The Weather Channel.
