NBCU Names Ari Perler Research SVP

In the new position, he will oversee all research for licensing Universal TV series and feature films to cable, subscription VOD and emerging non-linear platforms.

NBCUniversal today announced Ari Perler has been promoted to SVP, research and strategy, NBCUniversal television and new media distribution, U.S. & Canada. Perler will continue reporting to Frances Manfredi, president, television and new media distribution, U.S. & Canada.

In this newly created role, Perler will oversee all research functions related to the licensing of Universal TV series and feature films to cable, subscription VOD and emerging non-linear platforms, as well as help to develop sales strategies necessary for optimal content monetization. Perler also will support first-run and off-network TV series distribution efforts to linear TV and subscription VOD in Canada.

“Ari is a talented executive who has made tremendous contributions to the Television and New Media Distribution group,” said Manfredi.

Perler joined NBCUniversal in 2008 as VP, research, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution, where he supported the distribution of NBCU-owned TV and movie properties to cable and broadcast syndication and led the group’s research efforts for the national ad sales team selling syndicated first-run and off-network TV series.

Perler holds a B.A. in economics with a focus on international finance, macroeconomic policy and quantitative modeling from the University of Michigan.
