NBCU Names New Networks Distribution Head

As the new president of NBCUniversal TV Networks Distribution, former Cablevision exec E. McRae “Mac” Budill will oversee the company’s network portfolio including the sales, distribution marketing and communications for NBCUniversal's broadcast and cable nets.

NBCUniversal today named E. McRae “Mac” Budill, president of NBCUniversal TV Networks Distribution. He will report to Matt Bond, EVP, content distribution, NBCUniversal. Budill will begin his new role in the coming weeks.

Budill will oversee the strategic direction of the company’s network portfolio including the sales and distribution relationships for NBCUniversal’s broadcast and cable multichannel distribution partners, as well as manage marketing and communications.

NBCUniversal’s content portfolio consists of the network-owned NBC and Telemundo stations; cable networks including USA, Bravo Media, cloo, Chiller, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, mun2, NBC Sports Network, Oxygen Media, Sprout, Style Media, Syfy, The Golf Channel; Olympic content on cable and broadband; as well as on-demand and set-top box content.

Budill joins NBCUniversal from the cable and communications division of Cablevision Systems Corp. where he served in a variety of positions, most recently as EVP, programming. In that capacity, he was responsible for leading all content acquisition activities for the business. Until recently, he served on the board of directors of the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC).

Prior to Cablevision, Budill was a consultant for Bain & Co. where he focused on strategic, operational and organizational problem solving.

He holds an MBA from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Yale College.
