NBCU TVD Names Restivo VP, Program Research
Roy Restivo has been named VP, programming research and sales strategy, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution.
In his newly created role, Restivo’s responsibilities will now include identifying, analyzing and recommending new business opportunities in the syndication station sales arena by formulating and executing research strategy for NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution. Restivo will also support senior management in the development of long-range strategic plans for the division’s various program brands, including: Access Hollywood, Access Hollywood Live, The Jerry Springer Show, Maury, The Steve Wilkos Show, The Chris Matthews Show and The Wall Street Journal Report with Maria Bartiromo.
In addition, Restivo, who is based in Los Angeles, will continue to oversee national and local market sales research for the West Coast for the division’s first-run and off-network programming slate and support the national syndication sales team with specialized research presentations supporting their local market sales pitches.
Since 2004, Restivo has been VP, research for NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution. Restivo previously was senior director from April 2001 until May 2004. Prior to the merger of NBC and Universal Studios, Restivo was the director of research for NBC Enterprises, where he assisted in all local market sales research for the NBC syndication division.
Before joining NBC Enterprises, Restivo was director of scheduling and operations at Playboy Entertainment Group. At Playboy, Restivo oversaw all program scheduling and long-term planning for Playboy’s three subscription-based cable television networks.
From 1997-1999, Restivo was a Senior Research Analyst for Carsey-Werner Distribution. There he was responsible for creating sales presentations used in the syndication sales of “Roseanne,” “3rd Rock From The Sun” and “The Cosby Show.” Prior to Carsey-Werner, Restivo worked as a business and entertainment attorney in Los Angeles.
Restivo graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Southern California with a Juris Doctor degree and Master of Arts degree in mass communications.
