NECN Hires Shannon Mulaire As Anchor, Reporter

Regional cable news network NECN today announced that Shannon Mulaire is joining it as anchor and reporter starting April 4.

Mulaire currently anchors Early Today on NBC and First Look on MSNBC and brings nearly a decade of local television experience to NECN. Before her current post, Mulaire worked at WFXT Boston, for nearly five years, working her way up from general assignment reporter to weekend anchor before being ultimately named weekday morning anchor in January 2012. She anchored WFXT’s morning news show until early 2015.

Before working in Boston, Mulaire was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WTVT Tampa, Fla., for two years. She started her career in local television broadcasting at WFTX Fort Myers, Fla., where she worked in various roles for two years.

Mulaire holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and cinema and media studies from Wellesley College and a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Emerson College.
