New Co-Anchor Kim Chappell Joining WBND-LP

Weigel Broadcasting Co. has added Kim Chappell to the news team at its ABC affiliate WBND-LP South Bend-Elkhart, Ind. (DMA  97). Beginning in early October, Chappell and current anchor Brian Dorman will lead the weeknight evening news broadcasts at 5, 5:30, 6 and 11 p.m.. They will also co-anchor ABC 57 News at 10 PM on co-owned CW affil WCWW-LD.

Chappell comes to South Bend from WTVF Nashville where she reported and anchored using her maiden name, Gebbia. She previously worked for WXII Winston Salem, N.C., and WECT Wilmington, N.C.

Chappell is an Atlanta  native and graduated from the University of Georgia. She also studied abroad at the University of Innsbruck in Austria and the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
