New ‘Live’ Co-Host To Debut On Sept. 4

Kelly Ripa will kick off the syndicated strip's new season on Monday, Sept. 3, acting as a solo host for the first time, and the following day, Sept. 4, will mark the first day the new co-host team officially will helm the show together.

After months of speculation, TV fans finally will get the answer to the question, “Who will be Kelly Ripa’s new co-host?” That morning, when Ripa walks into the Live studio, she’ll be joined by her new partner and a new era will begin for the syndicated show.

On Nov. 21, 2011, Live! with Kelly debuted following the departure of longtime host Regis Philbin, and in the following months, 59 different men and women sat next to Kelly at the co-host desk, personalities from every area of broadcasting and entertainment. One individual from that immensely talented group has been tapped to fill the spot permanently.

Ripa will kick off the new season on Monday, Sept. 3, acting as a solo host for the first time, and the following day, Sept. 4, will mark the first day the new co-host team officially will helm the show together. Stopping by as guests on that Tuesday 4 will be actress Claire Danes and 2012 American Idol winner Phillip Phillips, making his Live performance debut.

Live! with Kelly is distributed in national syndication by Disney-ABC Domestic Television. Produced by WABC-TV in New York and executive produced by Michael Gelman, the show airs in more than 200 markets across the U.S.
