New Nexstar GMs In San Fran., Indianapolis

Christopher McDonnell will oversee KRON San Francisco and Randy Ingram will head the Indianapolis duopoly of WISH-WNDY.

 

The newly named and enlarged (from its merger with Media General) Nexstar Media Group has appointed new general managers in two markets.

Christopher McDonnell is tapped to lead MNT affiliate KRON San Francisco (DMA 6), while Randy Ingram has been named VP-GM of WISH (CW) and WNDY (MNT) in Indianapolis (DMA 27).

Christopher McDonnell has more than two decades of media executive leadership and management experience. He began his career at Leo Burnett Worldwide, a global advertising agency, before moving to Petry Television where he was a national spot television sales advertising rep and then later, entering local broadcast television business in sales and management.

Most recently, he was president-GM of WSNS Chicago, where earlier in his career he served as VP of sales and marketing. Prior to WSNS,. McDonnell held various sales management roles at WMAQ Chicago, KNSD San Diego and KXAS Dallas.

Randy Ingram’s career spans more than 35 years  in local news programming and content, station and sales management, new business development, digital media and strategic planning across multiple media platforms.

Most recently, he was VP-GM of WBTW Myrtle Beach, S.C., where he also held regional manager responsibilities, overseeing WCBD Charleston, S.C., and WSAV Savannah, Ga.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Prior to that, Ingram was VP-GM of WRBL Columbus, Ga. He began his local media sales career at WNDY Indianapolis. Ingram started his broadcasting career in news and production at KHQA Quincy, Ill., and later moved on to become station operations manager and executive producer at WFLD Chicago.

Both McDonnell and Ingram will report to Nexstar’s Brian Jones, EVP-COO.
