New Programmng-PR Head At WCVB, WMUR

Ro Dooley Webster joins the Hearst Boston duo from WBZ-WSBK Boston where she was director of communications and public affairs.

Ro Dooley Webster today was named director of programming and communications for Hearst-owned ABC affiliates WCVB and WMUR Boston (DMA 7) and their MeTV digital sub-channels effective April 7.

In this department head role, Dooley Webster will oversee all aspects of programming, media relations, and internal and external communications.

An Emmy award-winning media executive, Dooley Webster joins the Hearst stations from WBZ-WSBK Boston where she was director of communications and public affairs for all 11 of CBS Boston’s broadcast and digital properties. Over the course of her decade of leadership at CBS Boston, Dooley Webster managed many of the television stations’ major, local event programs like: The Boston Pops 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, the First Night special, the BLINK Holiday Tree Lighting show, and political debates.  

Before joining CBS in 2004, Dooley Webster was director of public relations for the Sunbeam-owned Boston NBC affiliate WHDH, where she managed communications and many of the station’s special events and live, local programs. She has also worked as the public relations director for the then Tribune-owned Boston WB affiliate WLVI.

Before that, Dooley Webster was director of press and public relations at New England Cable News (NECN).

She began her career as a reporter/producer for news and specials at independent WCVX Vineyard Haven, Mass.

Dooley Webster received her Master of Arts in marketing communications from Emerson College.  She graduated from Boston College double majoring to earn a BA in communications and marketing.  She is a graduate of Milton Academy.
