three years if you watch TV 24/7. On the other hand, if somebody watches about 4 hours of TV each day, it would take them a little over 17 years to watch everything they recorded. This device gives my Video Collection a run for the money, but unless the networks decides to show more “Vintage” TV (1950-1980s) WITHOUT hacking them up to place more commercials (Which most users would fast-forward through) Bear in mind nearly 2/3 of what I have in my Collection are no longer shown on either OTA or Pay TV. I’ll stick to my videos thank you.

With the vast number of vintage television programs available on demand, I find little use for those that I taped off the air back in the ’70s and ’80s, except that those recordings contain priceless vintage commercials and newscasts that will never make it to the online services. So I find myself fast-forwarding through the programs so that I can watch the commercials.

Enjoy that fine 200 lines of resolution from your VHS tapes Regulus. And that you talk about zipping through commercials with a VHS machine is just BS!

About 200 of my movies are on VHS, the Vast Majority of my TV Shows, Movies, Serials and Documentaries are on DVD and Blu-Ray. I seldom record anything these days, I just wait until they become available in a store’s “Bargain Bin” before I spring for it. With my vast collection, I need not be in a hurry.

Comical how your story continues to change as people point out the weakness of your statements – not to mention that recordable DVDs were not available until the late 90s, LONG AFTER those 70s and 80s TV programs had left the air!

All you need to DVR is the current season of shows. Come next September, they will be on Blu-Ray and DVD, and you can clear the DVR for the nest season’s shows.
