News Tech Leaders To Mine Digital-TV Integration, Production At NewsTECHForum

AddaliaRouxSieglerStoneAt TVNewsCheck’s upcoming NewsTECHForum, engineering, news technology and digital directors from Hearst Television, Cox Media Group, Fox Television Stations and Dalet will look to the newsroom’s evolving future in terms of digital and television production integration.

A diverse array of news technology leaders will discuss the challenge of streamlining news workflow and keeping pace with how stories evolve and are versioned for different media at TVNewsCheck’s NewsTECHForum 2017.

Dave Siegler, VP, engineering at Cox Media Group; Joe Addalia, director of technology products at Hearst Television; Emily Stone, director of multiplatform content at Fox’s WTTG Washington; and Frederic Roux, VP of sales, Americas for Dalet, will examine how Smart MAM, IP workflow, the cloud and other technologies are boosting news efficiencies. They’ll also discuss how the rise of the multiplatform managing editor is having an impact. The panel will take place at 1-1:45 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the New York Hilton.

“Television newsrooms are evolving their workflow to integrate digital much more tightly into the process, and this session will look at how that’s affecting staffing, the technology being used and fundamental organization,” said Kathy Haley, TVNewsCheck co-founder and publisher.

NewsTECHForum, now in its sixth year, will feature keynote interviews with Campbell Brown, head of news partnerships at Facebook and Micah Gelman, director of video and senior editor at The Washington Post. It will also feature sessions on Creating the Newsroom of the Future; The Contribution Revolution; Chasing Millennials in 2018; Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and the State of the Art in TV Graphics; and Drones & News Photography.

Set for Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 11-12, NewsTECHForum is co-located with the Sports Video Group Summit, where nearly 2000 sports production and management executives gather to pursue excellence in sports production. NewsTECHForum attendees will have access to the SVG Summit’s program and its Technology Showcase of more than 60 exhibiting manufacturers.
