NEWSTECHFORUM 2014

NewsTECHForum Examines News Workflows

The first day of the second annual NewsTECHForum conference from TVNewsCheck and Sports Video Group, Monday, Dec. 15, will feature station experts delving into how TV station newsrooms juggle online, streaming video, social media, mobile news and more.

Producing for a single screen is a thing of the past as newsrooms must plan for an ever-expanding roster of platforms. A panel of TV station news  executives will present their experience and suggestions in dealing with — and benefitting from — this change on Day 1 of the second annual NewsTECHForum co-presented by TVNewsCheck and the Sports Video Group.

“New Workflows, New Rules, New Tools” will look at how news organizations are adapting their workflows for the multi-screen news environment, and how technology — including the critically important newsroom computer system — is adapting to this changing world.

Addressing these issues in the Monday, Dec. 15, session at 2:15-3 p.m., will be Peter Brickman, WNET New York chief technical officer; Marty Faubell, Hearst Television VP of engineering; Blake Russell, Nexstar Broadcasting SVP of station operations; and Michael Koetter, Turner Broadcasting System SVP of media technology and development.

Phil Kurz, TVNewsCheck technology editor, will moderate.
