Kevin Kirkaldie will lead communications and community involvement initiatives for WPTY-WLMT Memphis and WJKT Jackson.
Nexstar Names Creative Services Dir. In Tenn.
Nexstar Broadcasting Group announced today that Kevin Kirkaldie has been named creative services director of WPTY (ABC) and WLMT (CW) Memphis, Tenn. (DMA 49), and WJKT (Fox) Jackson, Tenn. (DMA 176). The appointment is effective immediately, and he will report to Ardyth Diercks, VP-GM of the three stations and their digital operations.
Kirkaldie most recently was the marketing/creative services director of WWBT-WUPV and their respective digital multicast channels in Richmond, Va. From 2005 to 2011 he was the marketing/creative services director for WSLS Roanoke, Va., and was responsible for developing and executing brand marketing strategies for Media General’s southwest Virginia television and newspaper properties.
From 2002 to 2005 he was the promotion producer for Gannett’s WUSA Washington.
Kirkaldie began his career as a director/supervisor and promotions producer at KMTRC Eugene, Ore., from 1989 to 1993 and then at KOIN Portland, Ore., where he was a senior director of all special promotions, news and commercial production.
