Nexstar Names Eric Thomas GM In Lubbock

The broadcast group moves the GM of its Abilene-Sweetwater, Texas, operations to lead KLBK (CBS) and KAMC (ABC).

Nexstar Broadcasting Group announced today that Eric Thomas has been appointed VP-GM of its CBS affiliate KLBK Lubbock, Texas (DMA 142), and associated digital services, including community Web portal everythinglubbock.com. He will also oversee Nexstar’s joint operating agreement with Mission Broadcasting’s KAMC (ABC). Thomas succeeds Greg McAlister, who is leaving to run the Cordilera stations in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The appointment, effective March 4, marks the return for Thomas to KLBK and KAMC where in the 1990s he began his broadcasting career as an account executive. Since 2008, Thomas has been VP-GM of Nexstar’s KTAB and KRBC Abilene-Sweetwater, Texas, and in his new capacity at KLBK he will continue to report to Brian Jones, Nexstar’s co-chief operating officer.

Thomas is a 1989 graduate of Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in advertising.
