The local broadcast exec moves from the company’s WBOY Clarksburg, W.Va., to take over operations at the Richmond, Va. ABC affiliate.

Nexstar Names Larry Cottrill GM Of WRIC
Nexstar today appointed Larry Cottrill vice president and general manager of ABC affiliate WRIC Richmond, Va. (DMA 55). He will immediately assume his new responsibilities and report to Doug Davis, Nexstar SVP-regional manager.
Cottrill brings more than 16 years of station management experience to his new role with what Nexstar called “expertise in revenue growth, operating strategies and hyper-local news and sports programming development.”
He most recently was VP-GM of Nexstar’s WBOY-TV (NBC/ABC) Clarksburg, W.Va.
Prior to his tenure at WBOY, Cottrill served in various professional capacities at WOWK Charleston, W.Va.; WTRF Wheeling, W.Va.; and WVNS Bluefield, W.Va.
Earlier in his broadcast career, he served as GM for West Virginia Radio Corp. and key account manager for Rutter Communications. His past experience also includes joint ownership of Cava & Banko, an accounting and consulting firm in Bridgeport, W.Va.
Cottrill is a graduate of West Virginia University.
