Lisa Lovell-Ayres, the acting ND at WPTY-WLMT Memphis and WJKT Jackson, is promoted to oversee news operations for the stations and their digital operations.

Nexstar Names ND For Memphis-Jackson
Nexstar Broadcasting Group announced today that Lisa Lovell-Ayres has been named news director of WPTY (ABC) and WLMT (CW) Memphis (DMA 49) and WJKT (Fox) Jackson, Tenn. (DMA 176). The appointment is effective immediately and she will report to Ardyth Diercks, VP-GM of the Memphis and Jackson television and digital operations.
Since December 2012 Lovell-Ayres was the acting news director of the Memphis/Jackson operations, and previously served as the stations’ executive news producer since 2004. From 1998 to 2004 she worked at WIVT Binghamton, N.Y., where she was the executive news producer and news director.
She began her career as a news producer at WBNG Binghamton where she handled various news assignments and producing capacities and then at WYOU Scranton, Pa., as a key newscast producer.
Lovell-Ayres received her BS from Binghamton University, State University of New York where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with honors.
